Kap Paper Inc. is a leading paper mill in Kapuskasing, Ontario, seeking an experienced Buyer to join our purchasing team. This challenging role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to negotiate with suppliers.
Job SummaryThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, logistics, and procurement. With a focus on sourcing high-quality raw materials, machinery, and supplies, this position plays a critical role in supporting production operations.
Key Responsibilities- Source and analyze suppliers to ensure they meet internal expectations and requirements for day-to-day activities and capital projects.
- Recommend consolidation and standardization of common products and services to increase leverage and maximize savings.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions, as well as site contracts, in an effective manner.
- Promote good vendor relations and communicate changes to Stores Supervisor for inventory updates.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent experience.
- CPM, CPP, or other relevant certifications would be considered an asset.
- 5 years of experience in industrial purchasing and supply chain management.
- Experience with vendor management and negotiation.
- Familiarity with procurement software and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Estimated salary range: $65,000 - $90,000 per year.
