Job Description:

The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager with the day-to-day operations of the store, implementing strategies and processes to drive customer service, store sales, and profitability.

This role requires a high level of customer service skills, excellent time management and prioritizing skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a large format grocery/supermarket and 3 years of work experience in a Manager/Supervisor role in a retail/supermarket.

Post-secondary education and/or experience in merchandising and/or business management is an asset.

The Assistant Store Manager will oversee the responsibilities of the Store Manager in their absence, open and close the store, provide direction, guidance, training, instruction, performance management, and support to all store associates as required.

This includes ensuring store conditions are consistently upheld to established standards, assisting in creating weekly staffing schedules, and liaising with various departments of the store to ensure information is conveyed properly and expectations are communicated.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the Store Manager with day-to-day operations
  2. Implement strategies and processes to drive customer service, store sales, and profitability
  3. Provide direction, guidance, training, instruction, performance management, and support to all store associates
  4. Oversee responsibilities of the Store Manager in their absence
  5. Open and close the store
  6. Liaise with various departments of the store

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a large format grocery/supermarket
