Job Summary

  • Provide patient-focused care within the RPN scope of practice, prioritizing individualized attention and compassionate support.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Contribute to the assessment and documentation of patient health status, utilizing critical thinking and clinical expertise.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Plan of Care, working closely with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Act as a role model for safe and best practices, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous quality improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, embracing a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the evolving needs of our patients and healthcare team.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Recent experience in acute general medicine nursing, with a strong foundation in IV therapy, health teaching, and central venous access devices.
  • Knowledge of complex medical populations and wound care, with a commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest clinical guidelines and best practices.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Commitment to professional development and quality improvement, with a passion for lifelong learning and continuous growth.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Commitment to patient and family-centered care, with a focus on delivering personalized, compassionate, and respectful care.

Education and Certification

  • RPN diploma from a recognized school of nursing.
  • RPN Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Physical assessment course preferred.
