Construction Project Manager for Road and Parking Infrastructure

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Manager to oversee the execution of road and parking infrastructure projects from start to finish. Based in the Greater Vancouver Area / Fraser Valley Area, this role will require strong leadership and communication skills to manage teams and ensure successful project outcomes.
Job DescriptionThis is a key position that reports directly to the Superintendent. The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for leading and organizing all construction activities on small to medium-sized road and parking projects. Key tasks and responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a high level of safety awareness at all times and ensuring that all crew members adhere to safety procedures and regulations.
- Leading daily work plans with crews, conducting weekly tailgate safety meetings, and performing monthly work site safety inspections.
- Ensuring that quality requirements are met, addressing deficiencies as early as possible, and communicating with the Superintendent.
- Supervising all aspects of daily and weekly operations, monitoring work progress, and ensuring scheduled deadlines are met.
The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of utilities, construction activities, and processes. They will also possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to read and interpret site plans/blueprints and look up specifications. Additionally, they should have a working knowledge of equipment on site and be able to measure and calculate length, surface, volumes, and quantities.
Desirable qualifications include Site Plan Reading Course (BCIT), Survey Course (Union/BCIT), Public Works Course (BCIT), Construction Management Courses, Occupational First Aid Level 2, Confined Space Entry and Rescue, Fall Protection, Hoisting & Rigging, and Heavy Duty Trailer Endorsement Training.
QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong and growing knowledge of utilities, construction activities, and processes.
- The ability to read and interpret site plans/blueprints and look up specifications.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- A working knowledge of equipment on site.
- The ability to measure and calculate length, surface, volumes, and quantities.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to use software such as Papyrus and Intelex.
