Public Health Program Coordinator

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Public Health Program Coordinator to join our team at Niagara Region. In this role, you will provide daily administrative support to our divisional staff and management, ensuring the efficient functioning of program operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with managers and staff to coordinate work activities, meet deadlines, and provide coverage in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide administrative support functions to ensure program success, including record keeping, data management, and financial record maintenance.
- Develop and produce health correspondence, documents, and reports utilizing Microsoft Office Suite programs and databases.
- Provide front line customer service to diverse clients, healthcare providers, and internal staff, ensuring excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A College Diploma in Office Administration, Health Services, or related field, or a post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Public Health, or Health Science.
- At least 2 years of recent related work experience in Public Health, health services, or clinical settings with medical and/or health terminology.
- Previous experience with program-specific Ministry software/databases is an asset.
Skills and Qualities:
- Excellent written communication skills, including email and minute-taking.
- Proficient ability to develop and produce health correspondence, documents, reports, and financial records.
- Understanding of medical terminology, health services, reportable diseases, medication/vaccine terminology.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Record/data management knowledge, including file management and using databases.
- Time management skills, with the ability to manage and reprioritize work under tight timelines.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position that requires flexibility, including evening hours and occasional travel to other offices or sites as authorized.
