Job Overview

The position of Senior Quality Assurance Specialist at Komatsu (Joy Global - Canada) involves overseeing the Quality Control program and ensuring adherence to standards, processes, specifications, codes, and regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills to maintain a high level of quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and maintain the Joy Global Canada Quality Control program and manuals.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of individual projects in progress and upon completion to identify areas for improvement and determine root causes of issues.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure quality control measures are in place and goals are met.
  • Assist in process development and improvement initiatives.
  • Verify and sign off on projects and worksheets, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Document processes to ensure consistency across projects.
  • Maintain relationships with third-party inspectors and vendors.
  • Oversee welder records and logs, verifying that all welding is completed according to approved CWB standards.
  • Provide quality control updates at production meetings as required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Journeyperson trade certificate or equivalent experience with practical knowledge of supervising welding/fitting operations.
  • CET (welding) or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with CWB requirements.
  • Able to interpret engineering specifications accurately.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to provide accurate results.
  • Intermediate computer skills, specifically with MS Office.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being independent and self-reliant.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills, able to work in a multi-disciplinary setting.
  • Proactive problem solver with initiative.
  • Able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Prioritizes tasks efficiently and executes multiple tasks quickly.
  • SAP, Excel, Word, and email knowledge required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
