Salary Range

The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.


Job Responsibilities

As a Laboratory Assistant, you will be responsible for the specimen collection process, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting patients, explaining the specimen collection process, and ensuring they follow necessary test protocol;
  • Performing phlebotomies, connecting/disconnecting holter monitors, and performing ECG tracings;
  • Maintaining client relationships, responding to inquiries, and following up on requests;
  • Completing data entry of patient demographics, requisition information, and other relevant details;
  • Preparing specimens for transportation and testing.

What You Will Bring

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent experience;
  • ECC training or experience is an asset;
  • Proficient data entry skills;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Ability to maintain the highest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
