Product Designer

Join OpenTable, a leading provider of online restaurant reservations and table management solutions, as a Product Designer. In this role, you will be part of a global team that crafts experiences that significantly impact diners and restaurants worldwide.

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Product Designer to join our Consumer team. As a Product Designer, you will work closely with product managers, product & brand designers, engineers, and data scientists to create, evolve, and develop new experiences for diners. Your primary focus will be on designing product concepts that balance customer needs and business goals.

Responsibilities
  • Lead initiatives that give restaurateurs new and meaningful ways to interact with guests
  • Build tools to help our restaurant customers engage guests with tailored communications
  • Design product concepts that balance customer needs and business goals
  • Become an expert in restaurant operator workflows by facilitating research with restaurant owners and staff
  • Partner with a thoughtful collaborative design team and cross-functional groups to deliver experiences that help restaurants provide incredible hospitality for their guests
Requirements
  • Enjoy translating complex workflows into elegant and accessible user experiences
  • Work through all stages of the design process, from capturing insights with user research and building and testing prototypes to visual design and working with product managers and engineers to deliver the experience
  • Value introspection to improve yourself, your team, and your products
  • Proactively seek and incorporate direction from senior team members and contribute to group conversations to help drive decisions
  • Love a challenge and solving problems
  • Are a fantastic teammate who can also lead small projects independently and remain open to feedback
  • Have a range of tools and know how to apply them within the process to clearly articulate your design rationale
  • Have time management skills and can deliver against agreed-upon commitments
  • A breadth of product design work across web and mobile platforms
