Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at BC Cancer. As a key member of our Ambulatory Care Unit, you will provide holistic nursing care to oncology patients, utilizing evidence-based practice and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, intervention, symptom management, and treatment coordination.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and modify care plans as needed.
- Administer medications, injections, and IV fluids as required, monitoring patient reactions and changes in physical or mental status.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, communications, and care evaluations.
- Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to BC Cancer policies and Centre directives.
- Refer patients to other healthcare professionals and programs as needed, promoting seamless care transitions.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- One year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and ability to apply it in practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
