Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at BC Cancer Surrey. As a key member of our provincial team, you will provide advanced level nursing expertise and clinical support to a multi-disciplinary healthcare team. You will also act as a resource and consultant provincially to Senior Leadership and multi-disciplinary teams, providing evidenced-based guidance on best practices in cancer nursing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exemplify excellence in nursing and nursing research by providing advanced level nursing expertise and clinical support to a multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
  • Act as a resource and consultant provincially to Senior Leadership and multi-disciplinary teams, providing evidenced-based guidance on best practices in cancer nursing.
  • Provide leadership in advanced practice nursing with respect to oncology and advanced practice at the program, organizational, community, and provincial, national, and international levels.
  • Conduct and/or facilitate cancer nursing research focused on identifying and/or incorporating best practices and evidence-based care to foster the development and implementation of strategies designed to optimize excellence in patient/client care and the health system.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Nursing plus current registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP).
  • 5-7 years of recent related experience working in a healthcare setting with a focus in cancer care and in a progressive leadership role. Certification in oncology nursing (or must obtain certification within one year of employment).
  • A broad understanding of current issues, challenges, and future directions of healthcare and cancer care in Canada.
  • Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and other related reports.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.

Salary:

$106,026 - $152,413 per year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate's relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part-time roles.
