Job Description

We are Ataccama, a leading AI-powered cloud data management company, and we are seeking a highly skilled General Counsel to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic legal counsel to the Board of Directors, CEO, and Executive Team on corporate governance, commercial transactions, and business growth.
  • Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of all contracts, including complex commercial contracts and software licensing agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, with a focus on privacy, data use and access, marketing requirements, and IP and trademark law.
  • Advise and assist with the growth and maturation of Ataccama's compliance efforts, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data protection regulations.
  • Manage and oversee litigation and dispute resolution processes, including selecting and overseeing outside counsel and managing legal budget(s).
  • Protect the company's intellectual property and manage IP-related legal issues.
  • Provide legal guidance on employment-related matters, including employment offers, terminations, contracts, policies, and disputes.
  • Lead legal due diligence and provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
  • Advise the Board of Directors on corporate governance matters, including board of directors' meetings and shareholder communications, and ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Build and manage a high-performing legal team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of relevant legal experience, with a strong background in the SaaS industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner to both legal and non-legal audiences.
  • A strong understanding of business operations and the ability to align legal strategies with business objectives.
