Senior Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Assistant General Counsel. This role will play a critical part in assessing and managing risk for our firm, working closely with the General Counsel and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and manage risk for the firm, addressing issues related to conflicts of interests, client terms of engagement, cyber security, information governance, and professional conduct.
- Develop internal policies and procedures on risk management, design and deliver training, and provide guidance to lawyers in all offices.
- Research risks associated with new technologies, including AI, and provide recommendations for mitigation.
- Collaborate with the Risk Management Committee, lawyers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective risk management.
- Minimum 5 years of practice experience in a large law firm environment.
- Excellent judgment, superior legal research and writing capabilities, and strong client service orientation.
- Ability to communicate effectively to a broad range of audiences, with strong leadership, relationship, collaboration, and consultation skills.
- Litigation experience and fluency in French are considered assets.
