Job Summary

The City of Ottawa's Financial Services Branch is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Resident Care Finance Officer to join their team. As a key member of the branch, you will be responsible for performing activities related to the maintenance and reporting of Long Term Care (LTC) resident account receivables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage resident trust accounts by ensuring funds are available and the authority to process transactions has been established.
  • Identify arrears and initiate collection activities.
  • Perform billing functions, reconcile accounts, and produce a variety of reports.
  • Assist internal and external auditors and respond to resident inquiries while maintaining a high customer satisfaction level.
Requirements
  • Completion of a community college diploma in General Business, Business Administration-Accounting, or a related field with an emphasis on courses in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related general accounting experience in a computerized office environment.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, commodity tax legislation, and accounts receivable reconciliations.
  • Ability to understand and apply directions, policies, and procedures, and to identify and assess problems and use analytic and problem-solving skills.
