About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Director to join our team at Southbridge Care Homes. As a key member of our nursing department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement nursing department initiatives and functions to enhance resident care and satisfaction.
- Lead the coordination and implementation of best practice and risk management initiatives related to resident care.
- Effectively manage the utilization of nursing supplies to ensure efficient and cost-effective care.
- Maintain a system of care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation at the resident and unit program level.
- Provide mentorship and support to staff while overseeing the provision of quality resident care.
- Investigate and address occupational health and safety concerns, including WSIB claims and return-to-work plans.
- Participate in special projects, reviews, and other initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
- Assume responsibility for the nursing department, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality care.
Qualifications
- Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
- A passion for caring for seniors and a commitment to delivering exceptional care.
- Experience with WSIB management and occupational health and safety principles.
- Knowledge of falls and harm reduction strategies an asset.
- Previous experience in long-term care an asset, with comprehensive knowledge of duties.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and comprehension skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, and staff.
