About the Role

Hexagon Asset Lifecycle Intelligence is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations team in Calgary, Canada. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational accounting functions, including financial close, intercompany, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and tax functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Operations Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the financial operations team, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement financial planning and analysis processes to support business decision-making and drive growth.
  • Accounting and Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, as well as other financial reports and analyses.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance: Ensure the implementation and maintenance of effective internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Team Management: Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of accounting professionals, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Professional Qualifications: Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, etc.) or post-secondary business or finance degree.
  • Experience: 6 years of finance and accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a medium-sized organization.
  • Skills: Strong Excel skills, good understanding of financial systems, processes, internal controls, and a working knowledge of IFRS.
  • Personal Qualities: Precise, detail-oriented, and committed to meeting deadlines, with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
