Role Overview:

As a highly skilled Site Supervisor at Bouchier, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team of heavy equipment operators and laborers. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operation of the site, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Coordinate: Oversee the activities of heavy equipment operators and laborers, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Assign Work: Assign tasks to team members based on job requirements, site conditions, and available resources, as well as worker qualifications.
  • Maintain Security and Condition: Ensure the security and condition of physical assets, conducting regular inspections to identify any potential issues.
  • Conduct Audits: Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with industry and company standards, addressing any non-compliance issues promptly.
  • Monitor and Evaluate: Monitor and evaluate worker performance to ensure productivity and adherence to established standards.
  • Develop Safe Work Plans: Develop safe work assignment plans as necessary, ensuring that all team members are aware of potential hazards and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure Compliance: Oversee and approve Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs) and work progress to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with HSE Specialist: Collaborate with the HSE Specialist to foster a culture of continuous improvement and proactive safety.
  • Analyze Business Practices: Analyze organizational operating and safety practices and procedures, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Enhance Training: Work with the Trainer/Coach to enhance training and competencies, ensuring that team members have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.
  • Estimate Resources: Estimate equipment, material, and labor requirements, ensuring that the necessary resources are available to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain Production Records: Maintain production and work records, controlling and monitoring business costs and expenses.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Manager, ensuring that the site operates smoothly and efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Leadership Experience: 5-7 years of proven leadership experience, backed by references.
  • Equipment Operation: 5-10 years' experience as an equipment operator is required.
  • Valid Driver's License: A valid Class 5 Driver's License is required; Class 1 or 3 license is considered an asset.
  • CSTS-09 and OSSA: CSTS-09 and OSSA Regional Orientation or OSSA BSO (Basic Safety Orientation before December 31, 2018) or CSO (Common Safety Orientation after January 1, 2019) is required.
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in leading a large team of over 30 staff is preferred.
  • MS Office Suite: Advanced knowledge of the MS Office Suite is required; previous experience with Maximo is considered an asset.
  • Safety and Training: A solid understanding of safety and training legislation, competency, observation, and evaluation skills is essential.
  • Conflict Resolution: Proficient in conflict resolution and employee management, with experience in addressing workplace issues, facilitating communication, and implementing strategies to enhance team dynamics and productivity.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong skills in problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making, with a proven ability to assess costs and benefits and select the most effective actions.
