We offer generous base pay, with estimated annual earnings ranging from $80,000 to over $110,000, depending on experience.

Job Description

As a Senior Accountant in our Assurance and Accounting team, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements;
  • Setting up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses, managing multiple files simultaneously and conducting inventory counts;
  • Performing accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset acquisition and disposition and payroll walk-throughs with clients;
  • Summarizing clients' current financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other relevant reports;
  • Assessing and assuring the appropriateness of audit evidence for expenses, revenues, capital asset additions, accounts payable, accounts receivable and prepaid expenses;
  • Reviewing, investigating and correcting discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents and reports;
  • Establishing charts of accounts and preparing entries for posting to accounts;
  • Preparing correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts and highlights;
  • Developing effective working relationships with clients while coaching and mentoring junior team members;
  • Participating in business development initiatives and identifying new business opportunities;
  • Maintaining flexibility to travel as necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A CPA designation;
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting experience;
  • Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
  • Experience working with accounting and tax software;
  • Understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles.
