Job Title: Executive Sous Chef - Lead Kitchen Operations

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Executive Sous Chef to lead our kitchen operations at West Coast Grill Sooke. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for maintaining high-quality food standards, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring seamless service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, and inventory
  • Analyze operating costs and other data to inform menu planning and kitchen operations
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, including specialist chefs, chefs, and cooks
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with the head chef to plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience as a sous chef or equivalent role
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures
  • Ability to train and develop kitchen staff
