Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team at Arvan Rehab Group. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will work closely with our Physiotherapists to provide high-quality care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with Conducting Group Exercises: Work with residents to implement treatment programs and achieve their goals, under the direct supervision of our Physiotherapists.
  • Encourage Resident Progress: Support residents in reaching their treatment goals, and document their progress after each therapy session.
  • Provide Safe Transfers and Mobility Support: Assist residents with walking, sitting, and safe transferring, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Monitor Resident Health Status: Report any changes to a resident's health status to our Physiotherapists or supervisors, ensuring timely interventions.
  • Perform Treatments: Apply ice packs, hot packs, ultrasound therapy, TENS (electrotherapy), and other treatments as directed by our Physiotherapists.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications: Must be a Physiotherapy Assistant graduate or equivalent, with excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with the elderly, supervisors, and teammates, with a strong focus on empathy and compassion.
  • Experience and Certifications: Experience working in a Long Term Care or Retirement home is an asset, with a current police check for the Vulnerable Sector, valid TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray, and access to a reliable vehicle.
