Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Langley Memorial Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing ultrasound examinations, receiving and preparing patients for testing, and working closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
Salary and BenefitsThe estimated salary range for this position is CAD $40.83 - $50.94 per hour, including four weeks of vacation, comprehensive health benefits, and a pension plan.
Job DescriptionAs a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for:
- Performing abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, peripheral vascular, and small parts ultrasound examinations
- Receiving and completing requisitions, reviewing patient case history, and correlating clinical history with examination
- Entering patient information into the diagnostic imaging information system and image processing systems
- Explaining procedures to patients and answering any questions that may arise
- Working collaboratively with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A graduate degree in Medical Diagnostic Sonography from a recognized training program
- Certification with Sonography Canada or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
