About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Obsidian Group Inc. as a Handyman/Handywoman. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and waxing hallways, floors, and stairs.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners, power sweepers, carpet cleaning machines, steam cleaners, and power tools.
  • Heavy Lifting and Moving: Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Minor Repairs: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Cleaning and Disinfecting: Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures, as well as water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
  • Work Environment: Work in various locations, including all weather conditions, and work with minimal supervision.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a maintenance or related role.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to handle heavy loads, repetitive tasks, and physically demanding work.
  • Equipment: Industrial vacuum cleaners/power sweepers, carpet cleaning machine, steam cleaners, power tools, power lawn mowers, upholstery cleaning equipment, and snowblower.
Working Conditions
  • Work Setting: Various locations, including on the road job.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
  • Language: English.
