We are seeking a highly skilled Satellite Configuration Specialist to join our team at Telesat.
About the RoleThis role will be responsible for ensuring the optimal utilization of COTS and custom software systems by providing configuration enhancements, support, and training. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of application security models.
Main Responsibilities- Gather and analyze business requirements to determine the configuration needs of COTS or custom applications.
- Set up software applications based on specifications and requirements, including defining user roles, permissions, workflows, and other settings.
- Modify and customize the application to ensure it fits the unique needs of the organization, which may involve writing scripts or coding.
- Conduct thorough testing to ensure that configurations and customizations work as intended without causing issues.
- Create and maintain documentation related to configurations, customizations, and any changes made to the application.
- Provide ongoing support, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular maintenance and updates to the application.
- Train end-users and other stakeholders on how to use the configured application effectively.
- 7+ years in application configuration and support
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Technical skills related to configuring enterprise-level COTS software
- Strong experience in creating and maintaining Workflows, Business Rules, and Reports
- Strong understanding of application security models
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Experience with SDLC and IT change management processes
- Experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, SharePoint
- Experience with SQL queries and procedures is an asset
