Job Summary

We are seeking a Seasonal Highway Maintenance Worker/Labourer to join our team in the Terrace, Kitimat, and Nass areas. This is a seasonal, full-time position that involves manual labor and operating plow trucks. Multiple positions are available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate in accordance with and uphold our Core Values in all aspects of your work.
  • Uphold an unwavering commitment to developing a zero-injury culture and meeting our Paving the Way to Zero goals.
  • Removal of snow and ice by safely using snow removal and/or sanding equipment.
  • Completion of pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Changing snowplow blades.
  • Patching potholes and jackhammering.
  • Doing maintenance and minor service works on vehicles.
  • Digging out plugged drains, maintaining shrubbery, and picking up litter.
  • Any other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Working safely is a condition of employment.
  • Minimum class 3 with air brake endorsement.
  • Previous snow plowing and heavy equipment experience is an asset.
  • Valid Occupational First Aid Level 1 is an asset.
  • Willing to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • O.T. work required in the event of a snowstorm.
  • Clean drivers abstract.
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Acknowledge this position can be labor-intensive.
  • Willing to work outside in all weather conditions.

What We Offer

  • Union Wages and Benefits $28.29 to $37.23.
