Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Manager to join our Corporate Client Group team at RBC. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the monitoring and evaluation of our credit portfolio, including Mid-Market Leverage & Infrastructure Finance and Capital Partners portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage our watch list and triage process by liaising with CCG Finance and MMLIF personnel across the country and working closely with key partners to deliver a comprehensive document for watch list and triage meetings.
  • Identify deteriorating credit trends and escalate the information to senior management.
  • Coordinate special industry reviews with CCG Credit Management and Group Risk Management and prepare peer comparisons for selected industries within CCG.
  • Enhance portfolio analytic capabilities while reducing processing time by automating reports across key parameters, including industry, geography, credit exceptions, and credit quality.
  • Prepare monthly reports to reflect activities in the portfolio and compliance with portfolio limits.
  • Support the preparation of reports requested by external parties, such as OSFI, National Office, and internal audit.
  • Support Relationship Managers to estimate transaction and relationship profitability.
  • Review the profitability of the loan portfolio and explain variances to senior management.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Data management and presentation skills, including proficiency with MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint, as well as ability to use external data sources such as CapIQ.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of credit products, principles, and financial analysis.
  • Analysis and reporting experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude, open mind, and interest in understanding new processes and concepts.
