We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Development Specialist to join our team at Willowbrae Childcare Academy (Langford). As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for children to grow and thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
- Plan and lead activities that promote learning, creativity, and socialization, such as storytelling, singing, and crafts.
- Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment that protects the well-being of children.
- Observe and report on children's progress, identifying potential learning or behavioral issues and developing strategies to support their growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to child care.
- College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
- Experience in child care or a related field is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependability, reliability, and strong values and ethics.
- 5-10 people in the supervision team.
- Permanent position.
- 30-40 hours per week.
- English language required.
