Job Title: Human Resources Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Specialist to join our team at Huu-ay-aht First Nations. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the HR department to ensure they meet the organization's goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assign projects to subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, labour relations and employee relations
  • Coordinate the activities of the HR department to ensure they meet the organization's goals
  • Motivate staff and plan, develop, implement and evaluate human resources policies and programs
  • Review HR projects to assure compliance with laws and regulations
  • Train staff and advise managers and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, benefit programs and collective agreements
  • Research and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions and salary scales
  • Administer benefit employment equity and other human resources programs
  • Co-ordinate employee performance and appraisal programs
  • Manage training and development strategies
  • Oversee the analysis of employee data and information
  • Coaching and propose improvements to methods, systems and procedures
  • Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury
Requirements:
  • Professional development program in personnel administration
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP)
  • MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, MS Word, Database software, Data analysis software
  • Valid driver's licence, Vehicle supplied by employer, Willing to travel
  • Ability to work independently, Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Attention to detail, Large workload
  • Excellent oral communication, Excellent written communication, Judgement, Organized, Team player, Efficient interpersonal skills, Reliability, Values and ethics, Ability to multitask, Accountability
