About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Application Architect to join our IT Solutions & Technology department at First National. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing Application Architectural oversight on all assigned products and managing the Application Architectural roadmap for your products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Application Architecture: Design and develop the application architecture for one or more applications, ensuring consistency and alignment with enterprise architectural goals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Technical Leads and Development teams to ensure Application Architecture is developed according to specifications and support the Enterprise strategic initiatives.
  • Technology Leadership: Promote the use of enterprise application frameworks, software reference architectures, frameworks, patterns, and standards, and drive Application Modernization and Architecture Roadmaps.
  • Artifacts Management: Create and maintain the repository of application architecture artifacts, and lead Application Architecture reviews and walkthroughs to ensure Application Architecture specifications and best practices are followed.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in ARB sessions, guide the creation and evolution of Business services and microservices APIs, and collaborate with technical stakeholders participating in different initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary education in Computer Science or Information Technology required.
  • Experience: 5+ years' experience in application development, 3+ years' experience in leading projects in varying complexity, and 2+ years' experience in application architecture.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of design patterns and the principles of clean architecture, strong analytical skills, and strong communication skills (written, verbal, collaboration).
  • Technical Skills: Experience with cloud computing (Azure), working with 3rd party SaaS providers, and working in an Agile development environment and an understanding of Scrum / Kanban.
