Senior Landscape Architect

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Landscape Architect to join our team at PLANT Architect Inc. as a Project Lead. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires a strong background in landscape architecture and project management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from concept to contract administration phases, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Collaborate with clients, attend meetings, and make presentations to communicate project progress and outcomes.
  • Lead and coordinate the work of intermediate and junior staff on various projects, providing guidance and mentorship as needed.
  • Coordinate consultants, prepare conceptual designs, presentations, design development, and construction documents, ensuring consistency and excellence in design.
  • Review and coordinate technical drawings and specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, team communication, consultants, and clients, ensuring effective project delivery.
  • Create technical/CAD drawings and assist more junior staff as needed, maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail.
  • Work collaboratively with Partners and other team members, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of professional office experience in landscape architecture.
  • Licensed OALA Landscape Architect with a strong understanding of local arboriculture and horticulture.
  • Familiarity with large and medium-scale urban public realm projects, including experience with contract drawings and specifications, construction administration, and local building codes.
  • Strong organizational skills, including management of multiple, concurrent projects in various stages, and excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and mentor team members.
  • Possesses a high level of graphic communication skills and spoken and written English, with proficiency in CAD and BIM software, Adobe Suite, and MS Office.
  • Comfortable working on a Mac platform and familiar with Vectorworks, an asset.
  • Enthusiastic about landscape architecture, architecture, and design, with a passion for delivering high-quality projects.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada and a driver's license is ideal.
