We are expanding our Toronto studio and require a highly motivated Senior Engineer responsible for specialist structural engineering design projects from inception to practical completion. This role involves working on complex buildings across various sectors, including residential, life science, education, retail, hotels, hospitality, sports, and leisure.

You will gain the opportunity to work on some of the most interesting and complex buildings worldwide, with current projects completed in over 50 countries. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out structural surveys and providing initial advice
  • Preparing conceptual and outline designs
  • Preparation of detailed design calculations using relevant software packages
  • Interpreting client briefs and assisting in preparing designs at all stages
  • Acting independently to investigate solutions and communicate design ideas

This position requires attendance at project meetings, liaison with other disciplines, and coordination of design and detailing work. You will also contribute to internal management of projects and associated resourcing appropriate to your experience and capability.

To be successful in this role, you should possess sound knowledge of structural design, experience with National Building Code of Canada, and knowledge of sustainable design and embodied carbon evaluation. Additionally, you should have a strong analytical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles, combined with practical understanding of buildings and construction.
