Forensic Structural Engineer Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Structural Engineer to join our team at J.S. Held LLC, a global consulting firm providing technical, scientific, financial, and strategic expertise to clients worldwide.
This role is an excellent opportunity for experienced engineers to leverage their skills in conducting damage assessments, forensic investigations, and expert witness testimony. As a Forensic Structural Engineer with us, you will be part of a dynamic team working on high-profile cases involving complex engineering failures, construction disputes, and catastrophic events.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in Civil/Structural Engineering and a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in forensic engineering, with expertise in engineering design, construction, and project management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and proficiency in industry-standard software (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) are essential for success in this position.
J.S. Held offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 - $140,000 annually, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including flexible work arrangements, generous annual leave policy, comprehensive medical insurance, RRSP matching up to 4%, and a $10,000 annual contribution.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct field observations, inspections, data collection, interviews, and document assessments
- Prepare forensic investigation reports detailing observations made, tests conducted, and results obtained
- Review legal documents, pleadings, contracts, etc., to identify underlying issues and factual evidence
- Collaborate with senior engineers in document review, root cause analysis, and standard of care assessment in large construction projects
- Conduct research and develop technical topics for publication and presentation
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- P.Eng license with good standing
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience as a forensic engineer
- Experience conducting damage assessments and forensic investigations
- Experience in engineering design or construction
