Senior Forest Technician

About the Role
The Manitoba Government is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the Senior Forest Technician - Timber Administration position. This role is responsible for overseeing timber administration, tracking, and management projects in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of forestry professionals in timber operations, data analysis, and compliance with regulations.
- Provide technical support on forestry legislation and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Develop and implement budget estimates and resource allocation plans.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve project goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Forestry or a related field.
- Experience in timber operations, data analysis, and strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of forestry legislation, Indigenous relations, leadership skills, and project management experience.
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver's license, Manitoba Scaling Licence, and Standard First Aid certification.
Working Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to travel to remote locations and work in challenging outdoor conditions.
