Job Title: Manager, Accounts Payable

Job Summary:

The Manager, Accounts Payable will oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and other financial transactions. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of financial processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the accounts payable team in achieving operational excellence and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with procurement and purchasing teams to negotiate favorable contracts and terms with suppliers.
  • Manage the corporate credit card program to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Design and implement effective internal controls to minimize risk and ensure accuracy of financial statements.
  • Uphold the integrity of financial statements by verifying invoices and ensuring accuracy of AP-related liabilities and accruals.
  • Process invoices, issue payments, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner to maintain a strong credit standing with suppliers.
  • Prepare annual tax filings for AP transactions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Research and resolve escalated vendor and employee inquiries regarding problem invoices.
  • Ensure all areas of accounts payable are properly documented using process maps and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with the completion of assigned monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing activities and audit requirements for the area of responsibility.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Finance or related field, professional designation in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Five years of related experience in Finance, Commercial Lending, or Accounting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Deep understanding of financial processes and procedures, with the ability to analyze and improve processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues.
  • Strong MS Excel skills, with the ability to create and maintain complex spreadsheets.
