The Opportunity

As an Insurance Risk Analyst Trainee, you will play a crucial role in understanding customer needs and developing profitable underwriting strategies. Your strong analytical skills, combined with excellent communication and negotiation abilities, will enable you to build lasting relationships with internal and external customers.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Complete a 6-month training program, encompassing on-the-job learning, classroom instruction, self-study, case studies, rating, and underwriting activities.
  • Develop judgment to accept, reject, or modify new/renewal business for various lines of business, ensuring a profitable book of business.
  • Price business in a timely manner according to company underwriting and pricing guidelines.
  • Market products to achieve company growth and profitability targets.
  • Develop ongoing relationships with internal and external customers, monitor profitability and quality of submissions, and stay aware of underwriting and/or product changes.
  • Review and develop a strong knowledge of policy coverages, broker relationships, underwriting and team guidelines, processes, procedures, and business strategy/organization.
Requirements
  • 0-2 years of work experience (not necessarily in insurance).
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in business, mathematics, economics, or finance.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide information in a clear, concise manner with an appropriate level of detail and professionalism.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships.
  • Ability to gather information, analyze facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Initiative driven and self-starter.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated organization skills and abilities.
  • This position may require some travel to Liberty Mutual's US office(s).
Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
