Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

SB Partners LLP is a leading Chartered Professional Public Accounting firm in Burlington, Ontario, serving a diverse range of clients for over 50 years. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated HR Generalist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in creating and implementing HR initiatives and projects, collaborating with HR leadership.
  • Manage the recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, selecting, and hiring.
  • Provide HR expertise and support management in employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, in accordance with legislation, firm policies, and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant legislative changes to ensure compliance of policies and procedures, with support from HR leadership.
  • Communicate HR updates or changes to all levels of the firm.
  • Support the maintenance of our HRIS and stay apprised of system updates.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of job and position-related documents.
  • Contribute to fostering a positive workplace by supporting the development and implementation of initiatives to enhance employee engagement and retention.
  • Assist with performance management processes, including annual reviews, formal feedback, annual goal setting, and progressive discipline.
  • Act as a backup health and safety support to the JHSC, as needed.
  • Perform administrative HR tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and firm information.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of generalist HR experience.
  • Strong understanding of relevant employment legislation (Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act).
  • Proficient in MS Office computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as HRIS database systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized with fine attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in an environment requiring discretion and confidentiality.
  • Experience working with staff and clients in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Strong team player and ability to work collaboratively towards common goals.
  • Ability to use professional judgment in decision making.
  • Joint Health & Safety Member certification, preferred.
