Dessert Holdings Inc. is seeking a skilled Millwright Red Seal/Power Engineer to join our maintenance team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for providing mechanical expertise and support to ensure the smooth operation of our plant equipment and production assets.
Key Responsibilities- Mechanical Expertise: Provide technical support and guidance to the maintenance team on mechanical installation and maintenance of plant equipment and production assets.
- Equipment Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose and repair equipment and parts in the shop, and work with other trades groups to complete project assignments.
- Safety and Compliance: Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and in the maintenance shop, and ensure knowledge and understanding of safety requirements and procedures.
- Communication and Teamwork: Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team-based environment, and communicate effectively with managers and colleagues.
- Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Ability to interpret and understand blueprints, and apply problem-solving skills to bring value-added industry best practices to our organization.
- Administrative Tasks: Complete work orders in a timely manner, and support other maintenance department employees with their job duties if necessary.
- Qualifications: Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Industrial/Millwright or Millwright Apprentice, and valid Power Engineer Certificate required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a food manufacturing and/or pharmaceutical plant is a definite advantage.
- Language Skills: Working-level proficiency in the English Language, good reading, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible shifts, including overnight shift, and be available for overtime as per business needs.
- Competitive Compensation: Great wages, up to $43.13/hr.
