We are seeking a skilled Millwright Red Seal/Apprentice with Power Engineer to join our team at Dessert Holdings Inc. in a Maintenance role.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will provide mechanical expertise and support to our production team, ensuring the efficient operation of our plant equipment and production assets. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as excellent problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide mechanical support to our production team, including installation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment and production assets.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, taking corrective measures to ensure efficient operation.
- Work with other trades groups to complete project assignments and maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements and procedures, and maintain a strong understanding of GMPs, HACCP, CCP, Lean, 5S, SOP, and WHMIS.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and interpret blueprints.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team-based environment.
- Support other maintenance department employees with their job duties as needed.
- Attend/respond to food process machinery breakdowns in an adequate, effective, and efficient manner.
- Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Industrial / AB/ ON/ BC Millwright or Millwright Apprentice certification.
- Valid Power Engineer Certificate required.
- Must be a certified 4th class Power Engineer or 5th class in boiler and refrigeration.
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing and/or pharmaceutical plant is an asset.
- Working-level proficiency in the English Language, good reading, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including overnight shifts, and be available for overtime as per business needs.
