Major Gifts Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Major Gifts Officer to join our team at YMCA of Greater Vancouver. As a key member of our Fund Development department, you will play a critical role in securing major gifts to support our organization's mission and programs.
About the Role:The Major Gifts Officer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing our major gift program, managing and cultivating relationships with existing major gift prospects, and identifying new prospects. You will work closely with our General Manager, Fund Development, to develop and implement a comprehensive campaign plan, and will be responsible for meeting annual revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a written donor strategy and relationship record for select major gift prospects
- Communicate with portfolio through face-to-face cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship meetings, and written strategies
- Participate in prospect clearance and work collaboratively with program staff and members of the fund development department
- Develop and maintain a detailed campaign plan and calendar to achieve campaign goals
- Work with the GM Fund Development to manage revenue projection and expense budget, and with Manager FD Systems to ensure pledges and pledge fulfillments
- Research, identify, and secure grants from foundations, and prepare customized solicitation strategies targeting organizational program objectives and donor interests
- University degree in a related field
- 5 years related experience
- Exceptional written, listening, and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of CRA regulations and laws in relation to donor and foundation compliance
- Proven team player with sensitively tuned interpersonal skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Internet, Google Mail, and Raiser's Edge
