We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Mechanic - Millwright to join our team at Maple Leaf Foods Inc.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment in a fast-paced industrial environment.

About the Role

This is a permanent position that requires 40 hours of work per week. The ideal candidate will have an Other trades certificate or diploma and experience as an asset. A strong understanding of machinery installation, maintenance, service, repair and machine set-up is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment
  • Repair or replace defective parts
  • Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up
  • Perform routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Operate machining tools to fabricate parts
  • Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Install machinery and equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
Requirements
  • Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement
  • Experience with automated and robotic systems, conveyor systems, electrical and electronic controls, fans and blowers, high-speed packaging equipment, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, power tools, pumps and compressors, welding equipment and hand tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure and handle heavy loads
  • Attention to detail and physically demanding work environment
