Key Responsibilities- Operational Excellence: Execute the business operational plan for the Montreal PDC, ensuring seamless execution of daily operations and achieving business results.
- Leadership and Development: Foster an atmosphere of integrity, accountability, teamwork, and cooperation among team members, empowering them to take leadership roles and achieve their peak performance.
- Staffing and Scheduling: Coordinate staffing requirements for the day-to-day operations of the PDC with minimal guidance from the plant manager, ensuring adequate coverage and minimizing downtime.
- Quality and Safety: Promote safe work practices, achieve objectives, health and safety, and housekeeping standards, and maintain a strong awareness of quality standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Utilize statistical methods and data from voice of customer and voice of process for continuous improvement, driving quality performances through standardized work practices.
- Employee Relations: Participate in employee relations activities, discipline, and selection of new employees, ensuring a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with departments and other business units to implement best practices, resolve problems, and sustain consistent performance to objectives.
- Education: Post-secondary education required.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience as a first-line supervisor of hourly employees in a warehousing/manufacturing environment.
- Language: Fluency in both French and English is required.
- Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of corporate, division, and plant policies, health and safety, employee relations, and GMS principles. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and facilitate others in group situations.
