We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic Orthopedic Unit at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support our interdisciplinary team in delivering excellent outcomes.



Job Summary

As a Nurse Practitioner on our Orthopedic Unit, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. Your expertise will enable you to make informed decisions regarding patient treatment and provide evidence-based solutions to complex care situations.



Responsibilities


  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and patient-centered care principles.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting healthy behaviors and self-management strategies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate seamless patient transitions and ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices.
  • Stay current with industry developments, incorporating new knowledge and skills into practice to enhance patient outcomes.


Qualifications


  • Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • One year recent surgical experience, preferred.
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset.
