About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Traditional Crafts and Trades Professional to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing restoration, maintenance, and new construction on heritage properties in the ministry's portfolio.

Your duties will include project planning, historic restoration, and cyclical preventative maintenance. This will involve working with the Restoration Foreman to determine project requirements, organizing tools and equipment, and performing carpentry, painting, and plastering work.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform restoration and maintenance work on heritage properties
  • Collaborate with the Restoration Foreman to plan projects and allocate resources
  • Conduct cyclical preventative maintenance tasks at remote sites throughout the province
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and identify areas for improvement

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in traditional crafts and historic building maintenance
  • Journeyman carpenter trade certification is preferred
  • Valid driver license is required
  • Ability to travel to different sites within Alberta is essential
