  • Responsibilities include consulting with the Restoration Foreman to determine project requirements, organizing tools and equipment, and performing manual duties such as carpentry and crafts in the restoration and maintenance of historic structures and their landscapes.">
  • Candidates must be physically able to perform manual duties and have experience with traditional crafts and historic building maintenance practices.">
  • Familiarity with modern tools and historic tools and equipment is also required.">

Required Skills and Qualifications

This position requires a combination of education and experience in carpentry, log working, thatching, plastering, and painting. A journeyman carpenter trade certification is preferred, as well as valid driver's license and ability to travel to different sites within Alberta.

Candidates must also possess skills necessary to be competent in carpentry, log working, thatching, plastering, and painting, as well as experience necessary to make recommendations regarding time and cost-saving measures.

Familiarity with the Alberta building code and Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada is an asset.
