The Role

A key member of the MCAP's Finance team in managing financial budgeting processes and analytical data. This is a management reporting and financial planning oriented role, focused on supporting the delivery of MCAP's budget to actuals analysis, key performance metrics dashboards and commentary to senior management.

Financial Analysis and Commentary


•Responsible for reporting of monthly/quarterly P&L actuals, budgets, production volumes and AUM for the organization.


•Design and formulate dashboards to display key performance metrics by business lines for senior management.


•Lead the production of driver-based monthly and quarterly budget to actuals reporting packages.


•Oversee and manage communication of budget related information to business unit leaders to monitor achievements and improve financial results for all lines of business.


•Assist business users to understand budget and actual results, where applicable.

Strategic Planning and Analysis


•Manage and oversee full cycle budgeting processes at MCAP, in partnership with other finance and business functions such as Middle Office and Treasury.


•Responsible for preparing budgeting packages for various P&L categories by business; formulate 5 year forward looking budgets and presentations for board members and executives.


•Manage and gather key assumptions and data; run and manage financial modeling results.


•Provide oversight over budgetary data and perform analysis to support reasonability assessment and review.


•Lead discussions with businesses to understand business performance drivers and gather key performance inputs.


•Manage allocation of overhead, IT and other operating costs across business units.

Data Management and Operations


•Develop data management acumen to process and analyze data such as asset by investor, securitization volumes, mortgage renewals etc.


•Analyze P&L trends and perform data validations between source and GL, when necessary.


•Manage and operate on MCAP's management reporting P&L database.

Project and Process Enhancements


•Identify opportunities for operational process enhancements and automation.


•Manage ongoing finance transformation initiatives to integrate budgeting processes into FSM in the future.

Requirements


•Strong financial analysis background.


•Accounting background recommended.


•Excel, VBA, Power BI recommended.


•Focus on detail and accuracy with respect to data integrity while working with large volumes of data.


•Excellent interpersonal skills.


•Excel, Word, PowerPoint proficiency required, familiarity with Lawson would be a definite asset.


•Database knowledge would be an asset.


•Exceptional oral and written communication skills.


•Excellent organizational and time-management skills.


•Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.


•Strong analytical and problem solving skills.


•Proven ability to foster relationships.


•Strong customer service skills.


•Self-driven, motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.


•Carries out duties with integrity and takes responsibility for actions.


•University Degree.


•Accounting Designation Preferred (CPA).
