Senior Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Laboratory Technician to join our team at Canada Building Materials. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for conducting chemical and physical laboratory tests of solid materials and liquids, analyzing test data, and preparing chemical solutions for use in processing materials.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required to perform tests, investigations, research, and/or process control.
- Test and analyze products such as concrete, aggregate, and cement for plastic and hardened requirements.
- Document results of tests and analyses.
- Prepare chemical solutions for use in processing materials, following standardized formulas or experimental procedures.
- Conduct maintenance for the Laboratory Facility.
- Plan for efficient use of materials, equipment.
- Perform statistical analyses and the reporting of cement and concrete performance to identify raw material quality.
- Complete, maintain, and process pertinent paperwork and records.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Post-secondary education in Civil, Chemical, Materials Engineering diploma or degree preferred.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Fundamental knowledge of computer software (Windows, Word, Excel).
- Valid Driver's License.
- Familiarity with test methods such as IR, TGA, XRD, Isothermal Calorimetry, CCIL, and CSA are not required but would be an asset.
