Job Title: Head Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team at Board 'n' Barrel Restaurant Ltd. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Menu Planning: Develop and implement menus that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to minimize waste and ensure that all ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train a team of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure that they are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all dishes meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Cost Control: Manage food costs to ensure that they are within budget and that all menu items are profitable.
Requirements:
  • Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Setting: Restaurant.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
  • Fast-paced environment: Our kitchen is a fast-paced environment where you will be required to work efficiently and effectively.
  • Standing for extended periods: You will be required to stand for extended periods while working in the kitchen.

  • Leadership: You must have strong leadership skills and be able to motivate and inspire your team.
  • Excellent oral communication: You must have excellent oral communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with your team and customers.
  • Flexibility: You must be flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances in the kitchen.

  • Team player: You must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with your team to achieve our goals.
