Job Overview

CIMA+ is seeking a skilled Water Resources Engineer to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. As a key member of our water resources team, you will be responsible for providing support to various projects related to infrastructure, municipal, highway, transit, and land development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models for Municipal, Road, Highway, Rail, Land Development and Transit projects.
  • Design stormwater management systems, including storage systems, Low Impact Design (LID) design, storm sewer design, and hydraulic grade line analysis.
  • Prepare technical reports and memorandums.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams regarding drainage requirements for projects.
  • Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with designs and construction of civil projects.
  • Manage regulatory applications and approvals.
  • Assist in completing design activities and preparing engineering drawings related to drainage and stormwater management.
  • Support construction activities as a project engineer when necessary.
  • Estimate quantities to complete construction estimates in compliance with standardized methods and established drawings and specifications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources Engineering from a recognized university. A postgraduate degree in Water Resources would be an asset.
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in an engineering consulting environment.
  • Strong understanding of water resources engineering principles.
  • Good knowledge and experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, specifically PCSWMM, Visual OTTHYMO, HEC-RAS, Culvert Master, and SWMHYMO.
  • Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and databases is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Valid driver's license and ability/willingness to undergo security clearance checks.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as retirement savings plan and paid time off.
