We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our team at the Waterloo Region District School Board. As an EA, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs and providing a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Support students with special needs in a classroom setting
- Assist with lesson planning and implementation
- Provide one-on-one support to students as needed
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
- EA Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum six (6) month diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution in a child-related discipline
- Minimum one (1) year of related work experience (1224 hours) preferably directly supporting children with special needs
- Valid Behaviour Management Systems certification
- Proven ability and recent experience in working with students with special needs and behavioural disabilities
