Job Title: Educational Assistant - Level D

We are seeking a qualified Educational Assistant to join our team at the Waterloo Region District School Board. As an Educational Assistant, you will provide support to students with special needs, helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as toileting and feeding
  • Help students to develop social skills and interact with their peers
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior support

Requirements:

  • EA Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum six (6) month diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution in a child-related discipline
  • Minimum one (1) year of related work experience (1224 hours) preferably directly supporting children with special needs

Assets:

  • Valid Behaviour Management Systems certification
  • Proven ability and recent experience in working with students with special needs and behavioural disabilities
