A Day in the Life

As a Clinical Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting on-site education and consulting to support the implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Supporting field personnel in providing the best possible outcomes and service for Medtronic customers.
  • Partnering with sales colleagues to develop and execute plans of sales for within one or more business unit(s).
  • Participating in conventions, forums, and meetings to increase product awareness.
  • Working closely with Clinical Lead, Clinical Management and Regional Sales team to provide customer case and sales support.
  • Identifying and facilitating execution on growth opportunities with Sales and Clinical Support Team.
  • Serving as a technical resource to support sales of a specific medical product or solution.
  • Reporting complaints and Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR).
Responsibilities

As a Clinical Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership and direction in all aspects of the establishment, implementation, promotion, and administration of the clinical education activities.
  • Developing and executing clinical education programs designed to enhance user competencies.
  • Cultivating close relationships with strategic business partners, including all training centers and opinion leaders.
  • Providing new employee training on products, technology and materials.
  • Assisting in developing objectives, and programs for marketing and selling the Company's products.
  • Providing nursing and/or medical expertise in the development, implementation, and case reports, journal articles and clinical reports from clinicians.
  • Planning, directing, and coordinating educational workshops, and other programs, events, and activities.
  • Leading efforts to place speakers on podiums at key conferences.
  • Working with other departments to establish priorities for the Company direction, new product development, and customer satisfaction.
  • Education reporting requirements (Must document all clinical support and education).
  • Conducting Monthly Business Reviews with RSM & SPM.
Requirements

To be successful as a Clinical Specialist, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • An Associate degree, or;
  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • A Bachelor's degree and currently enrolled in a certificate program from a pacing school like ATI or PrepMD.

Additionally, you will need:

  • Minimum 6 years of work experience in the healthcare or engineering field, with a High School Diploma or GED, or;
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in the healthcare or engineering field, with an Associate degree, or;
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in the healthcare or engineering field, with a bachelor's degree, or;
  • Minimum 3 years of any prior professional experience, with a bachelor's degree and currently enrolled in a certificate program from a pacing school like ATI or PrepMD.

Background in Nursing Education would be beneficial.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare related Sales and/or Marketing experience.

Strong knowledge of the healthcare system (National, Provincial and/or Regional level).

Medical device experience.

Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.

Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.

Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.

Knowledge of adult education and communication principles and practices.

Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse community.

Desire to help others.

Strategic planning skills.

Strong communication skills.

Advanced knowledge and understanding of nursing and/or medical principles, methods, and procedures.

Ability to develop, implement and evaluate clinical education methodologies and assessment instruments.

Must have a valid driver's license with no restrictions.
