**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Disability Case Manager to join our team at Co-operators. This is an 18-month contract position that offers the opportunity to work with complex claims and make a meaningful impact in the lives of our clients.

  • Mentor and coach disability case managers, assisting them with adjudication and managing claims assigned to them.
  • Review and authorize decisions made by disability case managers based on a complete understanding of the information and in accordance with claims practices and procedures.
  • Ensure continuous leadership development, incorporating learning into daily management.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster innovation and continuous improvement with a focus on client experience.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in disability claims management practices and group/individual disability insurance contracts.
  • Utilize critical thinking to guide decision making and apply a strategic mindset to adjust business plans based on shifting priorities.

Requirements:

  • You have 5 years of disability case management experience.
  • You have a post-secondary degree in Business Administration, health sciences or disability management.
  • You have an Associate, Life and Health Claims (ALHC) designation.
  • You have an expert understanding of disability claims management practices.
  • You have an expert understanding of group and/or individual disability insurance contracts.
